World Oceans Day 2022 – Killiney Beach clean-up & Tea by the sea

Come join us on Killiney Beach on 8 June 2022 for our clean-up to celebrate World Oceans Day. Killiney Bay Community Council (KBCC) would like to raise awareness of the vital importance of our oceans and the role they play in sustaining a healthy planet. A global celebration, it looks to bring people and organisations together across the world to celebrate and honour our oceans.
This year, we welcome guest speaker Dr Derek Cawley, representing a group of Irish Doctors for the Environment, who will speak on the link between health and the environment.
When: 16.30, 8 June 2022
Where: Meet at the Lifeguard Hut
16.30 – 17. 15: Beach clean
17.15 – 17.45: ‘Our Ocean, Our Health, Our Concern’, Dr Derek Cawley, Doctors for the Environment. Learn about the relationship between a healthy ocean and healthy humans.
18.00 Join us for ‘Tea by the sea’ after the clean-up.
