KBCC presents the Killiney Bay Heritage Trail

In support of local Irish heritage, KBCC, with the support of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, produced a visual heritage trail, showcasing some of the fabulous hidden sites of interest around the Ballybrack and Killiney areas.

Killiney Ancient Church and Graveyard heritage site reopens

On 8 September 2024, the Cill Iníon Léinín 6th-century heritage site reopened after a 2-year closure for repair works. Thanks to a group of local volunteers who look after the site.

Killiney Beach Blue Flag

Killiney Beach received a Blug Flag Award once again in 2025, following on from previous successful years of holding onto the award. Well done to all involved in keeping the beach clean. Let’s aim for a good outcome in 2026.

Killiney Beach Enhancement Works

Since December 2020, dlr has been carrying out a number of different enhancement works at Killiney beach, including its surrounding area and access points, following a proposal submitted by KBCC.

What is the Dublin Array?

German energy company RWE and the Irish company Saorgus, plan to build between 45 and 61 wind turbines on the Kish and Bray Banks – known as Dublin Array – 10km off the Irish east coast.

KBCC wants to provide the local community with information on this project and has co-hosted two public informations evenings in July and September 2022. The event recordings are available.

clean-ups 2026

KBCC organises regular clean-ups at Killiney Beach and Ballybrack Village throughout the year.

Beach cleans 2026: 28 February, 28 March, 25 April, 23 May, 6 June (World Oceans Day), 25 July, 22 August, 26 September, 24 October, Nov (tbc) (all dates subject to change)

We welcome all volunteers to help remove litter at every opportunity. We encourage regular beach-goers to remove even small amounts of rubbish on each visit. A 2-minute clean-up by many of us can make a big difference. Even encourage the kids to do a mini bucket clean-up. We also ask dog walkers to ‘make that scoop’! Together we can keep our environment clean and safe for all users.

Killiney Bay Community Council (KBCC) supports and promotes Killiney/Ballybrack as a vibrant residential and business community with its own unique story. This site aims to share latest information as well as news and events related to our community.

KBCC was set up with the aim of promoting a strong sense of community in the areas of Killiney and Ballybrack whereby people come together to tackle challenges which can lead to local solutions to improve the quality of life in the area.
