From ancient times to the more recent past
Killiney Bay Community Council (KBCC) is proud to present the Killiney Bay Heritage Trail.
Launched during Heritage Week in August 2021, KBCC, with the support of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, has put together a visual heritage trail, showcasing some of the fabulous hidden sites of interest around the Ballybrack and Killiney areas.
All within walking distance of Ballybrack village and Killiney Dart Station, follow the hour-long Killiney Bay Heritage Trail to six different locations.
- Ballybrack Dolmen, Shanganagh Road
- Michael Davitt Memorial, Ballybrack village
- Church of St Alphonsus and Columba, Church Ave, Ballybrack
- The Druid’s Chair, Killiney Avenue
- Martello Tower No. 7, Killiney Hill Road
- Killiney Monastic Site, on Marion Ave West, Killiney
Stop off in one of the numerous cafés along the way or enjoy a refreshment in the villages of Killiney or Ballybrack.
Thanks to all those involved for using their creative talents to make the video happen.
And our appreciation also to the Heritage Council for publishing the video on their website.
We are all part of the conversation of preserving and caring for our heritage as part of our own identity.
So share and enjoy!
